Our old neighbor Freddie owns a landscaping company (if you're in need of a landscaper, let me know!), and he offered to help us out with the more difficult tasks. One of those tasks was the removal of the overgrown, snot producing bushes in front of our garage, and this was no easy feat!
But after some hard work, Derek and Freddie prevailed against the booger bushes.
And while the boys were chopping away, I had the particularly daunting task of keeping them fueled. I did so with some fabulous recipes from Pinterest, including these Nutella pastries...
After a snack, the boys went back to work, and before lunch, they hacked the hedges down to size...
And just when we thought we had done enough in our jungle of a yard, a little lady by the name of Debbie paid Central Florida a visit...
Debbie and I are NOT friends, and she definitely overstayed her welcome. As a result, in spite of our fancy gutters...
We have a moat!
(and I didn't even get a picture of the worst of it!) The plus side is we don't have to set our alarm anymore. In fact, if we get a gator for the moat, I won't even lock the doors anymore! The downside? Derek has yet to install our drawbridge. As a result, we had to exit the house by going out the garage and jumping over the sensor, but because we don't have a garage door opener yet, entry had to be planned in advance. Because I was trying to avoid getting my injured toe wet, the first day I decided to hop on one foot. After that, I chose to wear platform sandals so that I could walk through the puddle and not get wet.
Freddie wasn't the only one who came to help out though! Brayden noticed Derek hadn't repaired the drywall holes, so he decided to help out..
The legos he chose though, weren't quite big enough though...
So that's the story of the week. Next week's blog (hopefully): Life Living on DRY Land!
I've always wanted a moat! :)
