Superheroes, Snot, and a little home improvement

Have you missed me and my AUH-MAZEBALLS blog? I know you have. Sorry, but 2013 got real from the very start. I started 2013 with nearly 2 weeks off after the whole Christmas hulla-ba-lou, and if you know me, you know I didn't spend that time eating left over Christmas cookies and watching TV (ok, you caught me, I ate a TON of Christmas cookies, but I was busy as hell while I was chowing down on their sugary goodness). My biggest project of winter break was the office, and if you saw the last blog (or even remember it because it was practically ages ago) I got a good start by purchasing some cute organizers...

But we needed some of those snazzy bins to put in the organizer, and a few other home improvements, so we went to Ikea. We didn't find what we were looking for, but we did see a lion!!

It looked so fierce, we decided to look elsewhere (namely my fav home improvement store, Lowes), and it's a good thing we did because we found some snazzy boxes for our organizers that go perfect with our decor AND we got the bathroom lights we've been eyeing...

We also stopped by Home Depot (you gotta do what you gotta do) because we saw the perfect mirror for our guest bath on their website. And with all our improvement needs in tow, we got to work! I finally unpacked the last of the boxes that I possibly can...

There are 3 more left (none of which are full) 1-Derek's computer technological rock, 2-Derek's sound thingy, and 3-our ceiling fans, and when I unpacked the boxes I finally found our coasters and our checks! Schwing! Then I took the remaining junk, my first grade nonsense, and a bazillion books, and made it all look like this...
Lovin my shrine to myself and my acheievements!

I've officially done all I can in the office. Now it's up to Derek to move the office furniture into the office, repair the plumbing holes in the closet, and put the shelves in the closet so the rest of the stuff in the office (and other things around the house) can be stored out of sight. And my work in the office must've inspired him because he started to do just that...

He also hung our new mirror in the guest bathroom...

...which replaces our beat up original mirror...

He also removed the duct tape "patch job," and its neighboring patch which was composed of what we think was a mixture of caulking and grout, and redrywalled that too...

...and then the snot set in. Derek got sick, which meant the progress halted. And he was feeling extra loving, so he decided to share his cold with me. Joy! But before he did, I did something epic... The Superhero Scramble.
